What is a Mentor?
A Mentor is a caring individual who opens their heart and home to a child at risk or an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In our Therapeutic Foster Care program, a Mentor is a foster parent. In our Host Home program for adults with disabilities, a Mentor is a Host Home provider. We call them Mentors because they are more than caregivers to the individuals they help—they are teachers, advocates and family. As a Mentor, you can make a difference and be a hero to someone who needs a helping hand, a friend and a champion for their well-being.
